New Zealand’s inaugural GreenDay a success

ebm-papst A&NZ launched its first New Zealand GreenDay on 11 October at Manukau Institute of Technology, Auckland.

The event was well attended by apprentices, business owners, consultants, engineers, lecturers and members of industry.

Hosted by Sales Manager Sharon Clay, the speaker programme was grouped into sections of theory, case studies and business.

Daniel Capovilla, Commercial Manager at ebm-papst A&NZ, kick-started the theory section with tips on how to improve your bottom line with energy efficient fans

Mike Hopkins, CEO of the Energy Management Association of New Zealand followed with how and why energy efficiency should be incorporated in the heating, ventilation, air-conditioning and refrigeration environment.

Morning tea allowed for some networking before the case studies part of the day was introduced by Matthew Darby, Director of EcoChill and current Chair of the Climate Control Companies Association of New Zealand. He shared his insights on perfecting produce through hydrocarbon secondary systems in the domestic distribution sector.

Lance Jimmieson, Director of Jackson Engineering, followed with how fan wall technology is used to resolve a building’s maintenance issues.

Drew Roberts, Account Manager at Energy Efficiency Authority, presented on how energy management can be applied to business and how the government can support implementing energy efficiency measures using NABERSNZ and Green Star.

It was followed by Daniel Capovilla, who presented a case study demonstrating a detailed insight into the effect of energy efficient fans in action.

Julie Keegan, Auckland-based Customer Services & Sales Support at ebm-papst A&NZ closed the programme with a few words on mental health and how looking after yourself can help you become more effective in day-to-day operations.
